The studio has a lovely view of the Sint-Jan church and a sunny roof terrace — for stays from two weeks.
Renovated studio on Molenwerf, Gouda's oldest street, with a striking view of the Sint-Jan church.
The building dates from the 1950s and has a large steel window frame with a French balcony facing the street. Every facility sits on one 10 by 4 metre floor, furnished with design pieces such as the Artifort sofa, designed by Kho Liang Ie in 1989.
The entrance at street level runs through a small art atelier. Below the studio itself, on the ground floor, is the atelier of a master flower binder.
“In the mornings you can often hear the birds in the trees behind the terrace; the busier part of the centre lies on the other side of the church.”
The studio sits inside a building with a flower shop, an exhibition space and the owner's own residence. For decades this building has had multiple users, with a good mutual understanding. Quite a few trees surround the roof terrace, where you can often hear the birds waking up in the morning.
Be aware that the studio is located in an older building with multiple users, where you can sometimes hear each other. As the owner, I live and work nearby, so we might well cross paths during your stay. Two (sweet and curious) cats live next door, which you may come across on the terrace.
